I made it 7 hours into the just water day, and caved. I was exhausted, took a 2 hour nap, had 8 glasses of water before 2 PM, and was unproductive in every way.
Melinda and I both decided such a dramatic change was not going to work for us. It is something I would definitely try again when I’m back to my usual super healthy eating, but at this point in time a change this big literally overnight isn’t working.
So here’s my new plan:
– No dairy, sweeteners, and still lots of water
– Stick to vegetables, primarily raw, until Monday
– Add protein back in Monday and Tuesday
– Wednesday, back to just normal healthy eating.
My biggest issue has been sweets and carbs, as well as not controlling cravings. While this isn’t as drastic as the Reset, it should be just the swift kick in the @$$ to get back on track.
I’m sure that was rough! And I don’t know that I could do it. Your modified plan sounds manageable and I know you can do it!
Have you ever thought about doing a whole30 or a 21 day sugar detox. Sure it’s challenging but I didn’t realise how dependant I was on sugar until I did a whole30. I also discovered that things I use to love did not love me.
I was a good wake up for my digestion system.
